MapQuest GPS Navigation & Maps App Reviews

Used to be great now something is messing up this app! It will not update, it will not even allow deletion! What gives, Mapquest? Used to be great, now stinks.

I set the app to avoid tolls and it took me through TWO. I was in a rental car and so I was charged $23 + the cost of the toll. HORRIBLE.

I used to love this app and I always used it over iPhone maps, because it is more user friendly than iphone maps. It gives directions ahead of time, not last minute. And easily allows you to look ahead to the directions coming up. However, lately it more often than not takes me to the wrong location! And I do not just mean that it gets me close but is unsure of exact location. It literally send me the wrong way nowhere near where I am trying to go. For example, most recently It told me to turn left off the freeway to arrive at a business in Stockton when in fact I was 3/4 mile away from the building and needed to take a right off the freeway to get there. It has done that a few times when I have attempted to use the navigation to arrive at well established businesses that should have been easy to find. I am now forced to use iPhone maps, because I would rather have last minute directions and a more confusing screen than drive in circles without finding the location.

When I discovered the MapQuest app and began to use it, I was very very pleased with the results. It was better than the GPS that I paid $150 for, it gave very specific instructions, turn notifications before getting right up on the turn, and the directions were very easy to follow without a lot of complicated turns. After this last update Ive been given directions that took me 20 to 30 minutes over the time it would normally take me to get there. MapQuest PLEASE go back to the method used before the last update. Loved this app up until recently. Gives me a location to start from which is definitely not where I am. Needs to be 100% accurate. FIX ASAP!!!!

Tried to update app but it is stuck and I cant erase it. Its been two weeks that I have been looking at it downloading on home screen..... Fix this!!!! Im done with mapqest!!!

I create tour routes on my computer using mapquest then send the link to my iPhone via email. For instance, I created two routes within southern Texas. One imports into the iPhone and the gps function in mapquest provides route and instructions as it should. The second route loads into mapquest using a similar process but the mapquest brings up a map of Africa. I have tried many routes and frequently get this African map instead of the input information This makes the mapquest app very unreliable and unsatisfactory. Please fix it now

Used to work very well and I used this consistently instead of the Apple maps app, but the last few times it has me starting at the wrong location and freezing, so I cant change anything. It used to be an amazing app, but it needs to be back to the way it used to be. Please fix this!

There has to be a way to fix the glitch. I favor it as a good app, but its taking me to the wrong location. You have to fix the glitch.

The best free GPS is called Waze this app is the best ever it tells u where the police is hiding to avoid tickets, it tells u if theres construction ahead, it will reroute u if theres traffic ahead & it works in the U.S & Canada try it u wont regret it & its free with a lot of features

This is just sad. I went to the App Store to get a new navigation app because mapquest for several attempts didnt work. Whats sad is I had a previous review that was a 5. Now, even giving it a 1 would be over rated. It is now just totally useless...

I use to love love this app! Since update if freezes all the time!! Not picking up locations correctly just horrible, searching for a new reliable app

I use to love this App, but in the last 3 months or so it has gotten me lost on multiple occasions. I wont get into detail on the other 5 times, but I will tell you about tonight. I was meeting friends out in Boston at a certain location. it first got me lost driving into Boston, then I finally had enough that I parked my car in a garage and then walked. It took me all over the City. I was so mad I was about to cry. It had me go an hour out of my way. I finally had to ask people on the streets for directions. So for a trip that takes me 50 minutes took me. 2 1/2 Hours. So on the way back to my car I downloaded google maps and it had me arrive at my car in four minutes. Deleting this App!!!!

Map Quest app is nice i like it but i dont weather icon at bottom right corner is USELESS...... Can you put my speed there thats shows how fast Im going and speed limit that needs to be on this road would be SUPER. I use different app just because this app doest have my speed and speed limiter, if it would have this features that would me my only and only one gps app that i would use.

I love all the previous versions of this app but with the new update, it stopped listing your stops in an abc order. It just lists starting and many end points. Please fix and get my 5 star rating back!

Worst update ever

Too much stuff on the screen so the map is really small. Okay for those with great vision. Not so much for the rest of us. Would like to see display options. For now, and for quite awhile now, prefer Maps app.

Mapquest is the only app that lets you decide where you are starting from. Google and Apple only let you start from your current location. Was out of town (not at home but wanted to do some trip planning in the future from our home). Mapquest let me setup the multiple stop trip while I was out of town, but also let me find out the distance and time between the multiple stop separately. Historically when ever there was a conflict between the various Apps, I always trusted Mapquest.

The app cant seem to remember where I am located. when it does put a pin where Im located and I do a search for nearby locations it gives me results in another state (nowhere near). does this repeatedly.
